Summer Night (1986)

This film traces the story of Folia and her sly kidnapping and eventual seduction of an infamous kidnapper and the events that unfold after she succeeds. She places him in the position of the victim and makes a point of asserting her power over him. He becomes her human toy, mentally and sexually. Her captive is not even allowed to see Folia until they, after other sexual adventure, give in to their sexual desires for each other. As the story unfolds further, the two fall in love. But he seems to deceive her when he ends up escaping from Folia's mansion, but then returns the favor of kidnapping her (for love and for possession) in the end.

Folia (her name seems to be from the Latin root for flower which can be equated to a woman on many grounds) is the representation of women and female sexuality. Although she submits to being dominated for the attention, and also lust, of the man whom Wertmller portrays as a modern-day mythical Hercules.
