Seduction of Mimi (1972)
Mimi is a Sicilian metalworker who rebels against the Mafia's candidate and, consequently, relocates to work in Turin. He falls in love with Fiore who is a communist flower girl. Mimi stands up to the Mafia and its associates (all of who can be differentiated from others due to 3 moles on their right cheek). But in Sicily, Mimi is ruined by his own hypocritical thinking because he returns to find his wife pregnant by another. Therefore, in retaliation, he decides to impregnate the wife of the man who slept with his wife. Mimi is later wrongly suspected and accused of the murder of this man and is forced to seek shelter in the Mafia Brotherhood. So his liberated lover leaves him, he ends up with nothing and no one and chooses to continue with the Mafia.
Mimi ends up with the Mafia because this is Wertmller's way of illustrating that his values and those of the Brotherhood are parallel in many ways. Mimi, like the majority of Wertmller's other macho men with goals, abandons their normalcy for the security of personal power.
